Nilfisk and Schubert Donate Over 400 Pounds of Food and Supplies for Local Families

Posted on January 21, 2013

In the winter of 2011, as part of our annual Nilfisk Morgantown Team Week festivities and holiday contribution we kicked off a food drive – raising about 200 lbs of food and supplies.

This past holiday season – joining forces with our marketing agency, Schubert Communications, we decided to shoot for an even higher goal! Throughout December, both offices collected a total of 478 pounds of food, baby supplies and personal care items that we donated to the Greater Berks Food Bank (GBFB) in Reading, Pa.

On January 7, representatives from the two companies met to deliver the combined donations to GBFB.

“The original goal of this food drive was to collect 300 pounds of goods for local families in need,” said Ashley Riley, Marketing Manager at Nilfisk. “With the generosity of everyone involved, we managed to exceed that amount by nearly 200 pounds and help support an organization that truly has a positive impact on others.”

Rich Carango, Schubert’s president, is appreciative of the opportunity to support Nilfisk, a long-time client of the agency, in its initiative. “For over 35 years, Schubert has built a strong foundation on relationships with our clients, many of which are based in Pennsylvania.

Collaborating with Nilfisk on this level allows us to strengthen our partnership and create a real bond with our surrounding communities.”

The Greater Berks Food Bank collects and donates food to over 270 charitable agencies throughout Berks, Schuylkill and western Montgomery Counties. Soup kitchens, shelters, after school programs and senior housing facilities benefit from over 5 million pounds of food distributed every year, providing those in need with nutritious meals and sustainable food supplies. Last year, GBFB supplied enough food for over 90,000 food assistance packages.
